Football Boot Reviews
Honest, player-focused reviews of the latest football boots, covering comfort, performance, value for money and best playing position.
Adidas Predators
“I’m a central midfielder and I bought the Predators mainly for control and passing. The touch on the ball is excellent, especially in wet conditions. They feel very solid and supportive around the foot. They’re not the lightest boots, but you definitely notice the control benefits when striking or switching play.”

Nike Mercurial Vapour
“I play winger and these boots are unreal for pace. The first thing I noticed was how light they feel compared to my old boots. The grip is perfect on firm ground and I felt quicker straight away. They do fit quite snug, so I’d recommend half a size up if you’ve wide feet. Overall, easily the best boots I’ve worn for speed and control.”
– Mark, 21, Sunday League Winger
Puma Future
“These are ideal if you like comfort and flexibility. I play 5-a-side and 11-a-side and they work well on both surfaces. The fit adapts to your foot really nicely and there was no break-in period at all. Great option if you want something comfortable but still modern.”

Nike Tiempo Legend
I’ve worn Nike Tiempos for years now and the Legend is still the most comfortable boot I’ve played in. Straight out of the box they felt soft and broken-in, which is a big deal when you’re playing week in, week out. The leather upper gives great touch on the ball and feels really secure when passing out from the back.
What I like most is the stability. As a defender, I want a boot that feels solid underfoot, especially in tackles and aerial challenges, and the Tiempo delivers every time. They’re not flashy like Mercurials, but they’re incredibly reliable. I’ve worn them on both grass and slightly firmer pitches and they’ve held up really well.
If you’re looking for comfort, durability, and control rather than speed, I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with Tiempos. They’re a proper footballer’s boot. – Mark, Semi-Pro Defender
